Low Pressure Cast Cylinder Heads
A range of low pressure cast cylinders, which we call "Class 1", are available for normal applications where a low cost, rugged and durable cylinder is required. The cylinder tube can be made from either steel or aluminium, depending on the size and weight requirements involved. A highlight of this cylinder type is the rugged seal, ideal for protecting the inner workings of the cylinder from the "dirty" operating environment. These cylinders can operate under rigorous operating conditions with minimal maintenance.
Although this type of cylinder is not pre-engineered as standard, the team of experts can custom design a cylinder to meet your specifications.
Example Industries/Applications:
Asphalt Batching
Foundries
Road Construction
Rolling Mill Cylinders
The rolling mill cylinder design, our "M-Class", is very similar to our low pressure cast cylinder heads. These cylinders have all the same features, with the addition of a recessed gasket, oversized rod, steel tube with welded flange and bolted cylinder head. Our rolling mill cylinders are ruggedly constructed and designed for heavy duty applications.
Example Industries/Applications:
Mines
Quarries
Steel Mills
Primary Metals
Medium Pressure Square Head Cylinders
Medium Pressure Square Head Cylinders (our "Class 6") are designed to meet national standards. This simplifies the task of replacing existing cylinders or matching common size and installation requirements. These cylinders feature an excellent seal design and are suitable for many challenging operating environments. They are lighter, smaller, and less expensive than comparable hydraulic options.
Example Industries/Applications:
Food Processing
Pharmaceuticals
Lumber Mills
Aluminum Cylinders
Our Class 5A aluminum cylinders are similar to the medium pressure class in many aspects. They are interchangeable with cylinders of the same pressure class in terms of construction and performance. The main advantage of this cylinder type is that the aluminum construction makes it extremely lightweight and fast reacting. Stainless steel fasteners, rods, and nuts can be used to increase corrosion resistance in outdoor or wet environments without sacrificing the weight savings of aluminum construction.
Example Industries/Applications:
High-Speed Automation
General Industrial Applications
Pharmaceuticals
Food Processing (unless stainless steel is required for food/consumable contact operations)
Cylinders requiring reed switches mounted on the cylinder body
Custom Designed Cylinders
In addition to standard products, custom designed cylinders are available for specific applications. Here are some of the custom capabilities our team has:
Tubing made from carbon composite, brass, bronze and stainless steel materials
Multi-position cylinders
Tandem cylinders
Stroke adjustment mechanisms
Non-rotating features
Rod lock mechanisms
Polygonal rods (P3 style)
Floating pistons
